TUNE-UPS All tune-ups include a comprehensive cleaning and inspection of the frame and all components to identify potentially dangerous issues. I check for hazards such as loose assemblies, damaged tires/wheels, damaged/contaminated cables, frame or fork cracks etc. I make note of any maintenance issues I find, if it's something simple like a frayed cable end I clean it up and cap it at no additional cost. If there is something like a leaky fork, brake or dropper, I will let you know what your options are and take it from there.
Tune-ups include but are not limited to...
Inspection and adjustment of shifting/drive train system.
Re-torque critical bolts, checking and adjusting suspension settings.
Wheel inspection including truing/dishing and checking for proper spoke tension.
Brake inspection/adjustment.
Headset/bar/stem inspection and adjustment.
Lubing of cables and housings.
Hub inspection and adjustment.
Tire inflation and/or sealant replacement.
Chain cleaning and lubrication.
Derailer hanger alignment
Tune-ups can also include more in-depth services depending on the bike. A tune-up may also require additional work such as suspension service, tubeless service, brake bleeding, pivot bearing/bushing replacement, or derailer hanger replacement.
EBG tune-ups are charged at a flat labor rate of $75 per hour. This means tune costs will reflect the time needed to service the bike. Tune-ups can take anything from 1/2 hour to a couple hours depending on the state of the bike. The owner will always be consulted prior to the execution of any work outside the tune-up outline. **Some repairs may require a day or more do to the nature of the repair or the availability of parts either at Eastside Bike Guides or our suppliers. Overhaul level tune-ups require that the bike be taken for a day or two to several days depending on the condition of the bike.
